About
Tahnee Brandt comes from an artistic family background and holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Technical University of Berlin. This technical formation continues to shape the studio’s methodology: form, structure, and durability are examined with analytical precision. A technical lens that allows to question, refine, and construct with intention. She unites spheres that are often perceived as oppositional: the precision of engineering and the poetry of art.
The studio is anchored in a material-driven practice. Ceramic bodies, glazed surfaces, and metal components form a structural and aesthetic dialogue in which each material asserts its own agency. This interplay between deliberate control and the intrinsic autonomy of matter defines the studio’s identity. It is a working method in which intuition and technical discipline operate simultaneously, allowing form to emerge through both intention and material behavior.
Tahnee Brandt’s life and work extend across Berlin, New York and Mallorca. Berlin offers raw clarity and boldness. Mallorca contributes craft traditions, light, and a grounding in material honesty. New York introduces international openness and a contemporary design discourse. The studio’s objects arise from the intersection of these environments, balancing stillness and movement, concept and substance, permanence and transformation. Each piece results from this dialogue. The works hold atmospheric depth, evoke presence, and offer something to return to.
Our Philosophy.
The Mystery of Letting Go
Not everything can be controlled. Like life itself, the glazes reveal their secrets only after the firing – how they express themselves, how they react, how they become visible. As designers, we let go.
The studio embraces this unpredictability as a constructive element of the design process. Pigments are mixed, layers are built, and combinations are tested, while the material is granted space to follow its own trajectory. Beauty often arises where it is not imposed, but allowed to develop through process.
Responsible Production
All objects are thoughfully designed and handcrafted in the studio’s workspace in New York. Materials are sourced regionally whenever possible. Clays and glazes come from trusted local suppliers, and metal components are produced by selected small-scale manufacturers. The studio prioritizes short supply chains, transparent sourcing, and conscientious material use.
Luxury is understood not as excess, but as intention: respecting nature, working with precision - using what it gives us with care, crafting with mindfulness and creating pieces that endure in both form and meaning.
Our Philosophy
Tahnee Brandt Studio creates objects with presence: independent, exact, and made for individuals who seek authenticity and depth. Berlin, New York, and Mallorca form the studio’s conceptual and material foundation, informing each object in thought, process, and execution.
